Beaumont ISD phone provider targeted by cyber attack
Phone lines at a local district are slowly being restored after the district's vendor was targeted by a ransomware attacks.

Beaumont ISD phones went down on Jan. 23 after a nationwide outage caused by a cyber attack on the phone carrier.
"The provider was working to rebuild their data center infrastructure until (Sunday), when we were able to start bringing up critical phones," BISD Director of Community and Media Relations Jackie Simien said. "During this time, all district phones were down."
