Two hackers in Tongling, East China's Anhui Province, were arrested by local police after they had been released from prison for only five days and made 2 million yuan($300,000) in illegal profits.

The local police had lately discovered that the backend data of a company in its jurisdiction had been hacked, and the amount involved was huge. Police later arrested the two suspects and learned they had met in prison and shared a passion for internet technology.

The two suspects found that there was a loophole in the backstage of the victim company after being released from prison, so they hacked into it to change the price of commodities and made 2 million yuan in five days by buying the commodities at a low price and selling them at a higher price.

"There is no need to do illegal things with such excellent IT skills as they could make for themselves a much better future," said one netizen on the Chinese social media Sina Weibo. The two suspects have now been detained in accordance with the law and the case is under further investigation.
