Documents made public by the court on Monday at the request of the media reveal new details about the intentions of the ex-Desjardins employee unmasked by the financial institution in the spring of 2019.

We learn in particular that on May 27, 2019, Sébastien Boulanger-Dorval would have had a second meeting in less than 24 hours with the direction of investigations and technologies of Desjardins, accompanied on the telephone by his lawyer.

During this meeting, Sébastien Boulanger-Dorval implored to obtain unemployment and not to have criminal charges as well as no media coverage of the event in exchange for the name of the company to which he sold information., can we read in a request for a search warrant from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) at Desjardins.

The day before, Desjardins had searched the home of its ex-employee under an Anton Piller-type order, an exceptional measure applying in the context of a civil action, which obliges a person to let the opposing party execute her a search and seizure.

An amount of $30,100 was reportedly found at his home along with numerous prepaid Visa cards. Late in the evening, Boulanger-Dorval reportedly confessed, during a first meeting, that he sells[ait] confidential information and databases relating to Desjardins clients […] for fifteen (15) months at the rate of approximately one sale every two or three months, without however revealing the identity of the buyer.

An evacuation drill in the event of a dreaded fire
Earlier in the day of May 27, 2019, the investigations department at Desjardins feared for a moment that Boulanger-Dorval was taking advantage of a fire drill planned for that day. to enter the building without an access card, reveal the documents obtained by Radio-Canada.

This is a suspicious transaction occurred in Laval in December 2018 which aroused the suspicions of Desjardins, who filed a complaint with the Service de police de Laval (SPL).

The SQ investigation began in June 2019. It covers possible offenses of identity theft, trafficking in identifying information, fraud over $5,000 and offenses for the benefit of a criminal organization.

The ex-Desjardins employee is not yet facing any charges.
