The National Library was the target of a cyber attack at night. Hackers attacked the lending system. After the attack was detected, the library shut down key systems. The resumption of traffic cannot be predicted, the library said. In the afternoon, library spokeswoman Irena Mařáková specified that some digital databases are working.

According to the security company Check Point, the number of extortionist hacker attacks in the Czech Republic has increased by 259 percent since the beginning of the year. The world's largest number of ransomware, ie extortion attacks target healthcare, an average of 109 attacks per organization per week. This is followed by public services with 59 attacks and insurance companies and law firms with an average of 34 attacks per week per firm. According to Check Point, the impact of ransomware on Czech companies is currently more than twice the global average.
