A blow for the eco-responsible shoe brand popular with celebrities like Meghan Markle and President Emmanuel Macron. Veja was the victim of a hack on his website on Monday April 26 and the cybercriminal took the opportunity to seize the customer database of the company founded in 2004. The computer file contains the e-mail addresses of the customers who have purchased online or signed up to receive Veja news.

"There are no bank details in nature because we do not store them and the stolen passwords are protected by encryption", assures Sébastien Kopp, the co-founder of the brand with the shoes marked with a " V ”and made in Brazil .


“We do not keep any banking data and all of our customers' passwords are encrypted and encrypted. It is therefore impossible for hackers to connect to your account or use your assets attached to it, ”Veja said in an e-mail to her customers where she asked them to change the password as a precaution.

A complaint was lodged and a declaration to the CNIL was made, as required by data protection legislation. The investigation was entrusted to the specialized judicial police and the hacker has already been spotted.
