On Wednesday, April 7, the municipal data network faced a massive cyber attack on the entire system from the early hours. The cyber attacker attacked the data infrastructure of the municipality, after which the individual subsystems were disconnected for security reasons. All municipal agendas remain out of order until further notice.

"We are now resolving the situation with external experts in the field of IT security. We are conducting a gradual examination of the breadth of the attack and we will have to perform a complete system recovery, including all hardware elements," said Jan Večeř, secretary of the municipality. He added that municipal and external experts are now working on this task around the clock.
Based on the determined width of the attack and after the system recovery, the municipality will gradually restore the individual systems. The estimated length of the whole process is fourteen days. We will immediately inform you about the ongoing renewal of individual agendas. "We are therefore asking citizens for patience," added Secretary Večeř.
At the moment, this means a fundamental restriction on the ability to deal with the ordinary agenda of citizens. Therefore, all agendas of the municipality remain out of operation until further notice . At the same time, experts are collecting all the necessary data to enable the city to file a criminal complaint against an unknown perpetrator.
