This is indeed a malicious act, confirms the company: disruptions have affected the computer system of Bénéteau, headquartered in Vendée, since Friday morning. All production sites, in Vendée and Bordeaux, are affected by the consequences of this cyberattack.

The Bénéteau boat company, headquartered in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, Vendée, is the victim of a cyberattack , its communications department announced on Friday evening. This attack was detected overnight from Thursday to Friday by the company's security system. As soon as its alarms were triggered, the service immediately shut down the networks. This is a protective measure to prevent the problem from spreading.
Bénéteau specialists, helped by outside cybersecurity experts, will no doubt spend the weekend trying to identify the origin and nature of this attack. The communication service indicates "that they must carry out a precise analysis of the whole system, in order to determine what is affected and what is not, which is very long to achieve".
This Friday, on the various sites, production was able to proceed normally, since the workshops had the parts necessary for the pursuit of their activity, delivered on Thursday. This will not be the case on Monday, following the shutdown of the computer system. This is why the company asked its employees not to come to work that day, and this, on all production sites, in Vendée and Bordeaux.
Bénéteau indicates having lodged a complaint with the Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie gendarmerie.
