Finistère Habitat paralyzed by a cyberattack

The social landlord Finistère Habitat has been the target for more than ten days of a serious computer attack. The services of the departmental office have been hampered since November 13 by ransomware. A type of malware that encrypts data and demands a ransom to unlock it. On their blog, hosted on the dark web, this group of cybercriminals gives the social landlord until Thursday evening to pay the ransom, under penalty of disclosing the stolen information - Finistère Habitat has specified that it will not give in to this blackmail. Several screenshots, showing lists of internal files, such as “Quittancement”, “Tenant elections” or even “Absenteeism”, attest to this hack.
