Hackers are able to gain access to user accounts because users regularly Reuse Passwords they have previously used on less secure websites that have been hacked and subsequently exposed their User Credentials.
The Threat Intelligence Research on Proteus-Cyber’s website contains many examples how Hackers use credentials available for sale in the Dark Web, stolen in a previous cyber attack, and stealing data within other online accounts (sometimes refered to as (Credential Stuffing Attacks).
That’s why it’s so important NOT to Reuse the same Passwords on your Bank Account as your LinkedIn account, or Google account or twitter account… or for that matter any other online account.
